I'm Stewart, and I've been repairing and servicing bikes for over 30 years. In 2022 I gave that a proper home: a workshop in Leicestershire, serving Melton Mowbray and the villages around it-BCR was born.
Long before that, I spent 10 years living in the Scottish Highlands — quite literally on the side of a mountain — which turned out to be prime territory for mountain biking back in the '90s, when the sport was still finding its feet. I made the most of it, working as a mechanic in cycle shops up there for the best part of 15 years and getting my hands on more bikes than I could count.
When I came back to Leicestershire, the habit didn't stop — I kept fixing bikes for friends, family, and anyone in the local community who needed a hand, long before Barn Cycle Repairs had a name or a workshop to call its own.
These days I'll take on pretty much anything on two wheels — road, mountain, city, kids' bikes, and e-bikes too (mechanical side only, no electronics).
